Shy Layers Atlanta, Georgia
Shy Layers is the musical incarnation of Atlanta-based artist JD Walsh. He made his debut recording on Hamburg's Growing Bin Records, fusing elements of Krautrock, 80s R&B, African Highlife, and Balearic Pop. This beautiful 6 year old album just topped my 2023 Spotify Wrapped! So of course I had to buy the vinyl. I've listened to this record of lush, warm acoustic ambience with jazz flourishes more than anything this year. Deep healing music with a timeless quality.
